Considering the increasing importance of the scientific and technological activities in the development of the countries, in the work we tried to analyze the efficiency of the expense realized by the goroup of countries in activities of research and experimental development (R&D) and their evolution between 2000 to 2009. We apply Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), specifically, we work with the models DEA Classic (Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes, 1978 and Banker, Charnes and Cooper, 1984), which allow to identify the technical radial efficiency, the technical pure efficiency and the efficiency of scale.
