Resumen:
This paper seeks to explain the causes of the Argentine banking system efficiency. The study was conducted on 62 banks in activity during 2015. To calculate efficiency DEA model with variable returns to scale output oriented is used. To explore the factors that determine that an entity is more efficient than another, Discriminant Analysis Method Logistic applies.DEA analysis uses Deposits, Operating Expenses and Fixed Assets as inputs and Financial Income, Income and Investment Services as outputs. In the Discriminant Analysis Logistic, the DEA efficiency measure is considered response variable and as independent variables the size of entities, type of business, source of capital, market share and resources. It is expected that the conclusions drawn from the analysis of the factors influencing bank efficiency allow a better understanding of banks, which play an important role in the development of a country. A healthy financial system contributes to development and economic and social growth.
