Resumen:
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) uses the well-known Human Development Index (HDI) as an indicator for measuring human development reached by different countries. HDI uses data from different aspects of the socioeconomic level of the population, and groups them into three dimensions of human development, such as life expectancy, education, and per capita income. Furthermore, it is well known that HDI is useful for the formulation of strategies and policies of countries and regions.Several methods have been used for calculating HDI based on measuring different indicators that characterize the socioeconomic environment. In this paper we propose to use the fundamentals of Reference Ideal Method as a variant for calculating HDI, which is illustrated through the measurement of human development of provinces in Argentina.
