Resumen:
Mobile NMR spectroscopy in combination with flow setups is an
attractive option to monitor and control chemical processes. By
providing chemical information in real time, it is possible to
adjust the reaction parameters to save time and resources and
to optimize product quality. In this work we 1H NMR spectra
were measured with a compact 1 T magnet under the fume
hood in real time in a flow-through set-up to study different
chemical reactions, such as the transfer hydrogenation of
acetophenone to 1-phenylethanol or the base-catalyzed
transesterification of vegetable oils with a short chain alcohol to
produce biodiesel. For each case, the effects of type of flow,
flow rates, concentrations, cell characteristics and tubing
lengths are discussed for optimum observation of the reaction.
