Resumen:
Intravaginal administration of progesterone (P4) has gained increasing interest due to the rise of reproductive management strategies such as artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization. Recent evaluations of various polymers PDMS steroid drug, showed the ability of polyisoprene (PI) to retain and release progesterone (P4) in vitro and in vivo. Comparative studies of release of P4 from PDMS and PI polymer matrices reflected the influence of the nature of thematrix on the release profile. The objective was to characterize the crystal structures of P4 prepared by different methods and using PDMS and PI polymeric systems. The solid state characterization of crystalline structure was done using XRD, FT IR and Optical and Electronic Microscopy and dissolution tests .
