Resumen:
his paper reports on a qualitative study that explored the reasons given by group of non-native pre-service teachers for choosing English teaching as a career. Data were collected through a journal entry from four cohorts. Three main types of motivational factors are discussed. Results are compared between the four cohorts and with those of a similar study carried out in Thailand.
