El tratamiento de la celiaquía en medios masivos de comunicación en Argentina

In this work, the analysis of celiac disease information in Argentina online media was evaluated with focus on the more broadcasted media according to Alexa indicator. Notes published in the online version of the newspaper La Voz (LV), The Nation (LN) and Clarin (CL) was collected. We selected six terms commonly used in the scientific literature (Spanish language): gluten intolerance, irritation of the intestinal mucosa, gliadin, biopsy, enteropathy and immune mechanisms. The variables were examined using an instrument developed that tabulated: article title, date, author, newspaper and section where it appeared and sources, enabling quantification of the selected terms. A total of 56 articles were found, of which 54% (LN), or 71% (CL) or 83% (LV) employed the term ?gluten intolerance?. Celiac disease was on the journals mainly in the month of May concordantly with the commemoration of the international day of the celiac patient. It was found that the terms used were not related to the section where the note was published. It is necessary to form journalist with skills to communicate and educate the community so that healthy habits could be followed by the patient its relatives.
