Resumen:
Technology can be a useful resource to complement and help foreign language learning. The advances in interactive technologies for learning collaboration are evident in new journals, conferences, instructional labs, and professional organizations, among other fields. When it comes to the field of education, these new technologies, which allow for collaboration, cooperation and sharing, are bringing students close to real-world environments and mentoring situations. The introduction of Information Technology (IT) in education and the rapidly growing advances in Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) have led to novel and multiple ways in which language teaching and learning can be carried out (Beatty, 2003, p.1). Technological resources offer a number of opportunities for EFL students to interact and work with the language and with their classmates: they change the pace of learning, they are intrinsically motivating, they help students be in contact with the real world and they help students develop creative and cognitive skills. As teachers and researchers of a foreign language, we should take advantage of these resources and find the way to incorporate the new tools in our working environment to make our courses more efficient and motivating. In this paper I propose different ways in which we can use Moodle and some other online resources, to give Phonetics and Phonology II students of the School of Languages, National University of Cordoba some extra tools they can resort to when studying and practicing at home.
