The study reported in this article is part of a larger research project designed to explore several aspects of Foreign Language Textbooks (FLTBs) from a systemic-functional perspective. Our study explores different components (table of contents, titles of units, rubrics, charts/tables, images, framing devices and book covers) in twelve textbooks used in Argentina. In this presentation we show information on six TBs used to teach English as a Foreign Language. The TBs cover different levels of proficiency (beginner, intermediate and advanced) and were published from the year 2000 onwards in Britain. The study adopted a quealitative approach, though at times we have used grids for quantification. We are going to report on: rubrics, charts/tables and images.
