Resumen:
Within
the framework of a research project being conducted at the School of
Languages of the National University of Cordoba, several foreign
language coursebooks (CB) are being analyzed. Some CB aspects, such as
the table of contents, titles of units, rubrics and some graphic design
elements are being studied following Halliday?s language model
(Halliday, 1985,1994, 2004). In this paper, some of the
project?s premises will be presented, together with some observations
about an EFL Advanced Coursebook, with the purpose of promoting
teachers? reflection and a more critical use of coursebooks in general.
