Resumen:
In this presentation we will examen the discourse used by EFL teachers of young learners. The design of an action research project which led to the identification of a number of functions widely used by EFL teachers in primary classes will be described and explained. Results will be analysed and steps to intervene in order to improve pedagogic practice will be discused.
