These rigid and spherical beads were prepared by crosslinking of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA). The PEI attachment was carried out through epoxy groups yielded in a previous activation step with epichlorohydrin (Ech) on matrix hydroxyl groups.
