Abstract
In this study, polyethylenimine (PEI) of different molecular weights were coupled onto a macroporous beads. Those beads, rigid and spherical, had in the surface hydroxyl groups and were prepared by crosslinking of hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA). The PEI attaching was done through epoxy groups reached in a previous step of matrix activation with epichlorhydrin (Ech). These modified copolymer beads so prepared, were evaluated for their suitability of a model protein adsorption like bovine serum albumin (BSA).
