We want to show that a combination of both Monist and Universalist perspectives on language can be traced down in our selection of models in Translation Studies. Such models refer us to different approaches to Translation Studies, namely, linguistic, textual, and communicative-sociocultural. Thus, our objective is to uncover shared ground between Translation Studies, on the one hand, and Universalism and Monism as philosophical-hermeneutical perspectives on language.
