Resumen:
The purpose of this paper is to describe the effects of the use of the Shadow Reading strategy on the pronunciation of prospective non-native English teachers or translators at the School of Languages, National University of Córdoba. The observations made are used to develop a program of activities based on the assumption that it is possible to modify apparently fossilized pronunciation if focus is placed on learner speech self-awareness, self-observation, self-monitoring and commitment to change.
