Resumen:
This paper is based on research that is part of an integrated project conducted at the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. which aims at documenting strategies for synthesis used by expert and novice writers. The study was undertaken with the purpose of examining complex processes which envolve reading, selecting, connecting and structuring content from various source texts geared towards the composition of a new text. Synthesis from multiple sources is a characteristic feature of academic writing that has rarely been studied in ELF.
