Resumen:
The present work contains a theoretical and practical proposal for the teaching of writing skills through an approach that seeks to integrate the main and the subsidiary language skills in meaningful, purposeful ways. The proposal has been designed within the general context of the current syllabus for the subject English Language II, corresponding to the English teacher training and translation careers at the School of Languages (National University of Córdoba, Argentina). The main objectives sought through its application in the classroom have been the teaching of various formats of comparison-contrast essays as well as the teaching of two topic-based content units; namely “Education” and “Relationships.”
