Resumen:
Journals can be instruments to promote students? self-discovery through writing, which may in turn result in more self-confident and competent learners and writers. The aim of this paper is to describe our experience at introducing journal writing in our EFL secondary school classrooms. We will briefly review previous research in the area and we will then describe how we introduced journal writing into our classes; finally, we will refer to how students? responded to this activity. We believe journal writing should play an important role in TEFL and that it is worth implementing at any level of instruction.
