Resumen:
The present work focuses on the organization and signalling of the problem-solution pattern of scientific texts, the study of which has been ongoing for many years now but, to our knowledge, there exists no detailed account of research on this pattern within the domain of the Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences. The ultimate goal is to find the best possible technique to help novice non-native English students and researchers discover the pattern in an attempt to add a new perspective to their approach to reading specialized texts: a clause-relational perspective. Our study is based on the foundational work done by precursors such as Winter (1977a), Gopnik (1972), Hoey (1979) and Jordan (1980, 1984) among others.
