This handout is intended to be used as supplementary material in theEnglish Language II course at the School of Languages, National University ofCórdoba, Argentina. It is organized into two different sections: the first onepresents four different practice tests with activities to assess the different skills students are expected to master in this course; at the end of the handout, a section with the key to the exercises has been included so that students can work and check their performance on their own. Each practice test includes a writing, a listening and a reading task, and a Use of English section with keyword transformation sentences, vocabulary and multi-word verbs exercises. All the activities deal with the main topics included in the six units that make up the current English Language II syllabus: Leisure and Holidays, Bonds and Feelings, The World of Work, Education, Environmental Issues and Crime and Punishment.The practice tests which are part of this material offer students theopportunity to familiarize themselves with the format of the test by experiencing the types of tasks they will be asked to undertake in exam situations.Specifications about the time students should devote to the writing assignments and to the Use of English exercises has been included so that students can time themselves and check their performance under time constraints.As it can be seen, this material aims at giving students the possibility ofimproving their language performance in an autonomous way and becomemore confident in their ability to improve their proficiency level. We hope thatstudents will take advantage of these resources and make the most of them asthey work to sharpen their English language skills.
